Organic Cost Share Program

Nebraska Department of Agriculture has been awarded $120,000 from the USDA to help offset National Organic Program (NOP) certification expenses for Nebraska producers and handlers. NOP certified producers and handlers can qualify for cost-share funds available through the Nebraska Department of Agriculture.  Eligible applicants will receive 75% of their NOP certification expenses, up to $750 per certification.  To be eligible the certified acres or facility must be in Nebraska and you must be NOP certified.  Applications for 2012 expenses will be made available on August 1, 2012 with a closing date of November 15, 2012.  Contact Steve Martin, 800-422-6692 or steve.martin@nebraska.gov, for more information or to be added to the mailing list.  All funds are available on a first come first served basis.
